This is a brilliant route. There are actually three roads going over the Lowther Hills. Each with its own personality. All are fast and grippy with good bends (more so than twisties - although there are a few of those too). You will see gold panners and can visit the Lead mining museum. You actually go over the two highest inhabited villages in Scotland - even though this is the lowlands. Moffat is a very motorcycle friendly town and a great place to finish and start a number of routes in the region. You will be spoiled for places to stay - just google bike friendly accommodation - Moffat. If you would like any other routes or information about Scotland - just give me a shout.

This route meets all bikes needs whether you ride a sports or tourer you will enjoy the great ride. Views are spectacular from start to finish. Long twisty roads with 95% of the roads having a great surface. Couple of pot holes to watch out for but I would highly recommend you try this one.
