This route is brilliant in itself. But do your self a good turn and when you are at St Mary's Loch take a left signposted Megget and Tahla. This is a narrow and windy stunning road - paved - but not ideal for sports type bikes - just a little bumpy. Stop for photo opportunities along this road - there are many. When you hit the T junction take another left (A701)towards Moffat. This is really swift with some brilliant bends and curves and you will also go over the famous Beef Tub.
