The Col de la Madelaine is only 1993m high and has been included around 25 times in the Tour the France. We think is a nice mountain road but without anything really special. The advantage is that with its' limited height is open rather early in the season (still pls check the road info)

Very pleasant pass between France and Italy. View is not the best but the top is quite nice with the lake! Tarmac is brand new on the top but going to the french side the road is still in quite average condition.

Hi, I lve close to that road and I ride on it at least 10 times per year. Its name isn't Col de la Madeleine but "Cole de Larche", in France and "Colle della Maddalena" in Italy. There are other several "Col de la Madeleine" in France but not this. Bye. Mario

Superbe route ! Avec la possibilité de s'arrêter en chemin pour une collation. Néanmoins il faut pousser plus loin jusqu'en Italie et les 17 virages qui suivent ! Sur la SS21. Nice road ! You can even lunch. You should also go up to the 17 "tornante" on the SS21 road, after the border with Italy.
