Starting in Warburton, Victoria, the road winds north through towards the Victorian Alps at the bottom of the Great Dividing Range. Cars are rarely seen due to the more direct route to Marysville, making the road largely used by motorcycles. The road follows ridge-crests which look out over the Upper Yarra Catchment Basin, and is surrounded by alpine forest, but although there are many great views over the surrounding landscape, you are likely to be too busy to catch more than a glimpse of most. Stop in Marysville for a coffee and lunch, before heading to Healesville via the Black Spur. The Spur is twisty with a series of hairpin turns punctuated by short straights lined with Mountain Ash giants the entire way.
