No wonder why this road is a masterpiece of the region. This road runs from the center of the village of Armeno to the top of the Mottarone from where you'll have a fantastic view over 7 lakes (Maggiore, Orta, Mergozzo, Varese, Comabbio, Monate and Biandronno), the pianura Padana and all the western alps and the Northern Appenines. To be honest the road ends 50 meters below the top that it's reachable with a 10min walk but it's worth it! P.s. The road that goes up from Gignese is a toll road
