This road setting out from Conwy is a full day out & covers some of the best scenery North Wales has to offer including a ride through the Snowdonia National Park, coast & beaches, castles, mountains, riverside, open expanses, panoramas, views, historical sites, gastronomy and more are all on offer on this ride. Some of the roads are single track B-roads. Some of the roads are A-roads, all are tarmaced/paved and are comprised of some areas that would not usually be ridden by the average person/rider if it weren't for local knowledge. Normal Road tyres are perfectly fine, but some of the roads are not in the best of condition, so check your suspension is suitable, I ride an Adventure R on 50/50 tyres. Places of note: Betws-Y-Coed: Tourist Trap, most popular village in Snowdonia. Pretty Victorian town with all your holiday shopping needs, food, drinks especially for walking/outdoors/EDC/ mountaineering clothing. Camping nearby. Beddgelert: Pretty but busy village with a beautiful walk down to Aberglaslyn bridge along river gorge and of course Gelert's Grave. Camping nearby. Criccieth: Seaside town with Promenade, Castle on the beach. Good cream tea shop at the crossroads/ train crossing in middle of town and Fish restaurant on the beach. Abersoch: Seaside village, surfers hangout, few shops & pubs. Popular with 5* caravanners. Porth Neigwl/ Hells Mouth: Beach Popular with surfers & locals. 4 mile long beach for walks & beach combing. Porthor/Whistling Sands: So called for the squeaking sound your feet make on the sand as you walk. Seasonal Cafe here (very good Bara Brith) Car Park at the top. room for a bike near the Cafe but difficult manoeuvring bike due to being on a slope. Take care. Morfa Nefyn: Fishing Bay, Beach, Pub on Beach! Golf Course, Seals/Wildlife. Cafes & restaurants in area. Amazing beach & crystal clear waters.
