Joey Dunlop, born in Ballymoney in 1952, aka ‘King of the Roads’ became one of the most successful street riders of all time, specially because of his world record of 26 wins at the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Tragically lost his life whilst racing in Estonia on 2000. His statue is next to the Mountain Course where he raced several years like no one else did.
