One of the first mountain passes when crossing the Pyrenees from West to East. It's not that high and it hasn't got the 'alpine' (high mountain) spirit, but it's a very fun stretch of road. The surface is good (some patches of dirt and animal droppings), safety is acceptible (not the best safety barriers, locals drive quickly ... but mostly seperated driving lanes). Down below, you start on a heavily forrested mountain flank, some stretches and hairpins are really dark. Higher up, it's a lot clearer, more flowing, faster and the pavement is better near the top. I've got a video of the Izpegi Pass up (eastbound, from Spain to France) on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhAuLo3PDpQ (or search for col izpegi). Enjoy!
