Smoky Mountains to The Shenandoah's The 469 mile drive on Blue Ridge Parkway connects Smoky Mountains National Park (NC) to Shenandoah National Park (VA). Scenic, accessible, and a highly recommended road trip destination by both locals and visitors. Blue Ridge Parkway is argued by many to be "America's favorite drive" because of the endless things to experience along the way. Blue Ridge Parkway is friendly to drivers, motorists, runners and cyclists. However, some points of this drive may not be suitable to travel by foot. Before hitting the road, road trip checklist and itinerary. There are plenty of worthy pit-stops to make along the way, so be sure to plan accordingly!

This road has exceptional views and its an iconic ride. If you expect to make time, this is not the road for you, especially in the fall when the leaves turn and you get stuck behind 20 cars. If your in the area, there are many alternatives that run fast with nice sweeping arcs.
