A small ferry service across the Bergsche Maas. It is one of three in this part of the river, that are all FREE to use! This is because of a historic agreement, and it is even secured in the law. A very nice interlude, especially on a hot summer's day. Watch out on the ramps, and put your bike in gear on the ship. In 1944 it was the scene of extremely heavy fighting, because of a prestige battle between generals of both sides, and almost 1200 men (!) died here. There is a small memorial in the dike. (2nd image)
