Road 35 crosses the desert central part of the island. The gravel section begins at the Gullfoss waterfall and ends at the Blanda power plant, near road “1”. This section is 155 km long. The road is beautiful and ideal for “adventure” motorcycles: perfect gravel, without difficulties, with one small river to ford in the middle of the distance. The other rivers are crossed by bridges. The road passes through a desert landscape, and glaciers can be seen on the sides. The views are gorgeous. When setting out on this route, stock up on fuel, as there are no settlements along the entire distance.
