This route takes you from Walvis Bay to Sesriem through Namib-Naukluft National Park and it's a combination of smooth salt road, gravel road and a little bit of asphalt before you reach Sesriem. There are a couple of winding sections through the stunning gorges, but the majority is a straight gravel road surrounded by the dunes and desert mountains. Deadvlei and Sossusvlei are Namibia's most popular tourist attractions. Unfortunately, you can't get there on a motorcycle so you need to stop in Sesriem for the night. There are few lodges and campgrounds in the area. I was happy with my campsite at Sesriem Oshana Camp which had very clean and good facilities. To get to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei you have two options — either hitch-hike or arrange a transportation at one of the lodges, which can be expensive. I just asked my camping neighbours to give me a lift in the morning and I hitch-hiked back to the camp. Allow yourself at least one full day for exploration of Deadvlei and Sossusvlei — walking through the mysterious Big Daddy and Big Mama dunes may take some time, but it's an experience of a lifetime.
