El Acueducto dos Pegões recogía el agua de cuatro manantiales y abastecía de agua al Convento de Cristo de Tomar. Es una obra de ingeniería monumental que mide seis kilómetros y posee 180 arcos. Las obras duraron 20 años, entre el 1593 y el 1614.
