When riding this road you probably find yourself in the position that when coming to the end you spontaneously turn around and drive back down/up. We did, several times. And then again. Just good to know, the Serra da Estrela is 2000m high and yes it also snows sometimes in Portugal (you can even ski), so check the status of the road before you get up there!!

the best way up

this is picos da europa, asturias but in portugal :) at least a small dose of it. the pavement is great the view amazing, but the best way to enjoy this road is going up. once on top take a break and visit barragem de lagoa comprida, or even take a swim. enjoy the twists

Nice rollercoaster ride with a beatiful view over Dão region. The best rush I got was going upward the road.
