When riding this road you probably find yourself in the position that when coming to the end you spontaneously turn around and drive back down/up. We did, several times. And then again. Just good to know, the Serra da Estrela is 2000m high and yes it also snows sometimes in Portugal (you can even ski), so check the status of the road before you get up there!!
