Both locals and visitors enjoy scenic views from the seats of their bikes, OHV, or sports cars. Apache Junction & Bulldog Canyon are popular off-roading areas near downtown Phoenix and offers unbeatable views of the Superstition Mountains. Those interested in joy rides are in luck - the main road through the mountain range is paved and perfect for spirited driving in any type of sports car. Please keep in mind that if you plan on using any of the OHV areas in Bulldog Canyon, you will need a permit. The permit is free to all, just print and sign! When it's too hot to hike the Arizona Superstitions in the summer, off-roading is always a great option. Summer is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of your Jeep's off-road capabilities, or whatever OHV you have. For anyone who does not own an offroad vehicle, there are paved roads in Apache Junction that will lead you through the Superstitions. There are a few restaurants and tourist attractions near the trails, you can't miss them! NOTE TO ALL: Summer is Monsoon season in AZ and it is highly recommended and necessary to check the weather before hitting the road. Most trails in the area are prone to flooding, so expect some stretches of both road and trail to be closed until the weather permits.
