Tambunan-KK road via Gunung Raya is the most challenges road in East Malaysia. Not only it has the most frequencies of hairpins turns, and they are tights, too! Road condition is also a challenge, mind you this is one of the road that used to be heavily affected from the last earthquake events, some stretches are still not fully repaired, yet. The direction heading away KK towards Tambunan is safer, as it is mostly going up hill.
