From Saint Pierre, take the RN2 to Saint Joseph. Next, make a stop at the little port of Pointe Langevin. This is the Southern most part of the island. A few kilometers after Saint Philippe, the big show starts at the Pointe du Tremblet. It's the beginning of the big slopes of the volcano with one hardened lava flow after another. It's one photo shoot after another as well, with the volcano on the left and the Indian ocean on the right. Next, stop at Sainte Rose to visit the church "miraculously" saved from one eruption. At the entrance of Saint Benoit, take left the RN3 back to Saint Pierre. That road is even more fun going up than down.
