This road is all about mountains, and this time, in a winter wonderland fashion. We depart from Braga, in the Northwest of Portugal towards Vila Verde and Arcos de Valdevez. Immediately on the exit of the town, we turn right to Porta do Mesio in the National Park of Peneda – Gerês. Then to Soajo, where you can see a group of curious corn cribs! You should now follow the indications to Peneda, with an interesting sanctuary. Bear to Castro Laboreiro, where you can visit the Castro. There’s some nice off road paths here if you want! Now you’ll have a bit of spain, crossing the border to Entrimo. Then follow the indications to Portugal via Lobios and Portela do Homem (returning to Portugal). Then is just down the mountain to Braga again! This time, I’ve made it with a snow covered landscape, but is gorgeous in any season.
