THE MUPPET STORY: 61klm away from Thessaloniki,is one of the famous raodtrip roads in Central Macedonia.

We chose the two most challenging roads to go to and from the village of Petrokerasa.

Following the old national road to Kavala E2,we turn right for Zagliveri and go all the way through a magnificent protected forest. Be very carefull of the animals crossing the road(we said hello to a little deer!) This road's difficulty is 2/5 ,It's about 30mins to arrive there,gives you great view of lake Koroneia. Speed limit up to 60klm/h ,good cornering,perfect place for videos or photos.

As you arrive to the village,all stores,taverns and cafes are in the central plaza,as well as a huge map of the village,the sightseeing places,and the forest with its hiking paths.There are hostels to stay overnight.All the village is easy walking through.You will admire the traditional macedonian architecture.There is a famous church of st Hlias,constructed at 1810ac. as well as chapels hidden in the forest. Numerous wells -the most famous is Nannoudas,water fountains,folklore museum,flour mill,traditional candle lab of Galiagria.

As you take the road to Livadi,from the other side of Petrokerasa,the descent difficulty is 4/5 ,speed limit 30-60klm/h,great asphalt. Aprox 40' to descent.This side of the mountain gives you view of a valley on the foothill of the mount Holomontas. This road connects with E16,which is the road to Polygyros,capital of Chalkidiki.

Two great things take place in this village. The annual cheries festival,every 16th of June and the motortrips-organised or not- that take place all over the year.
