Very nice touristic mountain pass with beautiful scenery, fairly decent surface. Going up to the French/Spanish border from the town of Larrau, southbound, you start with a fairly forested stretch, typically French-Pyrenees: not the best surface but acceptable, far from decent safety barriets, twisty but not very fluent. Higher up, it becomes more open, the road becomes narrower near the top. Not the best "driving road" (sporty motorcycle driving) but a wonderful scenic road (touring).
