This is a part, in its southern section, of the Ribera Sacra. This name is also the denomination of origin of the wines that are created with the grapes (Mencia) of this area. Its collection in the time of the harvest, is a particularly hard work, due to the unevenness of the land, as the photos show, in what has been called, "heroic viticulture" ... The road is narrow and full of curves, which compete in drawing your attention with the spectacular landscape that surrounds them. There are many wineries of this denomination of origin, which it is possible to visit, in addition to viewpoints (the Mirador del Duque, 4 kms from the route is mandatory to visit), and a pier with catamarans that take you on a tour of the reservoir from the river Sil, which irrigates all these vineyards. It is a delicious road, which should be discovered, complementing it with the northern area of the Ribera Sacra, and the delicious restaurants that border the reservoir.
