SH20 used to be a legend for off road riders, listed among the most beautiful, yet most dangerous roads. Used to be unpaved, and when wet, its second half of approx lenght of 30 kms could take as long as 8 hours of riding. However, the road has been repaved recently, I rode it during early August of 2016 and it was being upgraded and freshly paved thanks to EU funded project. Even though the road was not finished, we rode it on two Vespas, having a great time and no problem to get through. The road is almost empty, full of twisties, and amazing views. So far, the most beautiful road for me. Along the way, I suggest visiting a town of Shkoder, it has nicely restored historical center, with a plenty of good food around.

Unbelivable road in albanian mountains

This road is out of this world. Brand new, 62 km mountain road with superb surface, great views and totally insane turns. Although a bit narrower then similar roads in italian alps, offers great experience. we rode it north to south and would recomend the opposite direction. Riding it north bound is 90% uphil and more fun. Absolutely no traffic (september 2017).

It's always hard to rate a road. What made it better or worse than another? But this one takes the cake so far. I have travelled a lot of mountain passes and roads, but this one is incredible. I rode it from south to north and it is amazing! The surface is perfect tarmac all the way to the Montenegro border. The bends vary from high-speed turns to tight hairpin bends. And every time you cross a peak or pass, you are amazed by the next magnificent view. Giving a road the maximum score, is almost impossible. But I cannot think of anything negative. So yeah... 10. And the only thing better than this road... probably just riding it again.
