I leave Lac du Chambon, and immediately the D211A squeezes me between the rocky walls of La Roche d'Auris. It is the first Rute, carved into the rock, a thought carved between memory and silence.
Then comes she: the Route de la Confession.
No guardrails, just rock and emptiness.
It seems that, once upon a time, those who travelled it for the first time... went to confession. Now I understand why.
The third takes me to Oulles, a forgotten village where time has stood still.
Coffee made with the mocha, the sound of bells, and the wind that seems to tell you something.
The fourth is the wildest: Col du Solude.
Dense woods, military path, zero signposts. At the top, only the wind and the mountain.
The descent? Thrilling.
The fifth, Le Ponteil, gently closes the circle.
