Depart early from Hamamatsu for a 524 kilometre ride through central Japan to the world-renowned Twin Ring Motegi race circuit.
Curves are the first order of the day as we ride north from Hamamatsu into the Akaishi Mountains. Skirt the iconic Mount Fuji and take in traditional temples dotted among the trees. Further north-east, take the 139 through peaceful blue-roofed villages towards Lake Oku-tama. The mountainous Route 11 will challenge expert riders thanks to both an impossibly twisty trajectory, and a dizzying multicoloured road surface. Turn eastwards to Motegi, and its Twin Ring track.
