Ride up through volcanic terrain and Italy's mountainous spine to the Misano World Circuit on the Adriatic Coast.
Start in Sicily and ride up the side of Mount Etna. It's still most definitely an active volcano, so watch for volcanic rock pebbles that fall as lava rain. Cross onto Italy's mainland, dive into the Basilicata region and head north. Roads like the SS92 between Cersosimo and Senise introduce you to windy hillside riding. Further north, the route tackles some of the most enchanting sections of the Apennine range before meandering towards the Adriatic.
